Compton man sentenced for assaulting officer at anti-ICE protest – NBC Los Angeles
A Compton man was sentenced Friday to a few years in federal jail for throwing rocks and injuring a federal officer throughout a June 2025 immigration enforcement operation close to a House Depot retailer in Paramount.
Elpidio Reyna, 42, was sentenced by U.S. District Choose Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha. Reyna pleaded responsible Feb. 17 to a single depend of assault on a federal officer by lethal or harmful weapon leading to bodily harm, in line with the U.S. Legal professional’s Workplace.
Reyna has been in federal custody since July 2025.

Reyna was taken into custody July 23, 2025, on the U.S.-Mexico border in a negotiated give up, the FBI stated.
“The FBI issued video and images taken of the assailant on June 7 and Reyna was recognized shortly thereafter,” the FBI stated in a press release following his arrest.
“When brokers tried to arrest Reyna, he was not positioned and brokers developed data confirming that he fled to Mexico,” in line with the FBI’s Los Angeles subject workplace.
