Christopher Nolan Jokes ‘Batman Begins’ Was “Comfort Prize”
After 20 years, Christopher Nolan is lastly getting his historic Greek cinematic second along with his upcoming adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
The 2x Oscar winner not too long ago joked that his directing gig on Batman Begins was a “comfort prize” after a shuffling of tasks ended up with director Wolfgang Petersen returning to Troy after his Batman vs. Superman was scrapped at Warner Bros., just for the studio to present Nolan reins to the Darkish Knight.
“I used to be initially employed by Warner Bros. to direct Troy,” he advised Empire. “Wolfgang had developed it, and so when the studio determined to not proceed along with his superhero film [Batman vs. Superman], he needed [Troy] again.”

After transferring on from Warner Bros. along with his twelfth movie Oppenheimer (2023), successful seven Oscars and surpassing $975M globally for Common, Nolan introduced The Odyssey has his subsequent collaboration with the studio final December.
