School presidents name out Trump’s ‘unprecedented authorities overreach’ – NBC Boston

The presidents of over 200 U.S. schools and universities are calling on the Trump administration to cease “unprecedented authorities overreach and political interference now endangering American larger schooling.”
A press release issued Tuesday by the American Affiliation of Schools and Universities and signed by college presidents, titled “A Name for Constructive Engagement,” got here a day after Harvard mentioned it was suing the Trump administration to halt a federal freeze on billions of {dollars} in analysis funding.
The administration argues its marketing campaign towards Harvard, Columbia and different faculties is a battle towards antisemitism.
Of their assertion, college presidents mentioned they have been talking with one voice to “reject the coercive use of public analysis funding” by the federal government.
These signing the assertion included presidents of personal and public universities, group schools and Christian campuses.
