CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) – An individual was rushed to the hospital with critical chunk wounds after being attacked by a canine inside a house in Cambridge on Saturday.
Officers responding to a 911 name reporting a violent canine assault inside a house on Prospect Avenue round 7 p.m. discovered a resident of the house who had been attacked by a 45-pound pit bull and sustained deep lacerations to his higher arm.
Officers utilized a tourniquet to manage the bleeding till EMS and fireplace crews arrived and took the person to a hospital.
A second resident suffered minor accidents however declined medical transport.
The canine was positioned and safely secured by officers and animal management with the help of a member of the family.
It was voluntarily surrendered by the proprietor and brought to a close-by veterinary facility.
