Grinch in Burbank? Police nab suspected toy donation thief – NBC Los Angeles

Burbank police arrested a person accused of stealing toys that had been donated for a toy drive contained in the foyer of a enterprise constructing, officers stated Monday.
Officers initially responded to the enterprise final week on N. Hollywood Method and Vanowen Road after receiving a name about lacking toys that had been inside a donation field. The objects, similar to board video games and dolls, had been collected for a Toys-for-Tots drive, police stated.
The staff on the constructing instructed police that the surveillance video footage confirmed a meals supply driver, leaving with a number of the toys from the donation field on Wednesday, Dec. 3.
“The suspect was then seen concealing extra toys within the bag earlier than leaving the constructing and driving away,” Burbank police stated in a press release.
The suspected thief, who was later recognized as 43-year-old Sedrak Khachatrian of Burbank, was arrested and booked for housebreaking.
When police served a search warrant at Khachatrian’s condominium, they recovered toys that seemed to be from the donation bin, together with puzzles, a Sizzling Wheel set and Disney princess dolls.
Most of the recovered toys had been returned to the enterprise, police stated.
