OAKHAM, MASS. (WHDH) – Firefighters responded to a deadly fireplace in Oakham early Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to a single-family dwelling at 67 Skyline Drive in Oakham round 12:45 a.m. Wednesday for stories of a fireplace.

A Rutland police officer reportedly tried to get inside the house however was compelled again because of the circumstances inside.

Officers mentioned six inches of snow outdoors and temperatures round 4 levels Fahrenheit induced the hose strains to freeze and induced icy circumstances on the scene.

After roughly an hour, the fireplace was beneath management and firefighters stayed on the dwelling extinguishing hotspots.
