Lightning strike sparks construction hearth in Sylmar – NBC Los Angeles

Hearth crews responded to a two-story condo advanced construction hearth that was sparked by lightning in Sylmar.

The hearth was reported round 4 p.m. Thursday after a palm tree caught hearth and prolonged to the aspect of the Sylmar Villas senior condo advanced.

It took about 36 firefighters beneath half-hour to totally extinguish the flames, in keeping with the LAFD.

No accidents have been reported.

Climate officers warned Thursday of “harmful lightning” in addition to flash flooding brought on by thunderstorms in components of the San Fernando Valley. 

Lightning strikes have been noticed in Sylmar and Granado Hills.
