Stars signal ahead Sam Metal to four-year, $14.8M extension

FRISCO, Texas — The Dallas Stars have signed ahead Sam Metal to a $14.8 million, four-year contract extension that may start subsequent season and undergo 2030-31.

Common supervisor Jim Nill stated Monday that Metal’s consistency and flexibility have made him a worthwhile asset for the Stars.

Metal joined them as a free agent in 2023, and this season is wrapping up a $4.2 million, two-year extension he signed in February 2025.

Metal has 175 factors (61 targets, 114 assists) in 491 regular-season video games with the Anaheim Geese (2018-22), Minnesota Wild (2022-23) and Stars. He set profession highs final season for targets (12), assists (21), factors (33), game-winning targets (5) and hits (79).
