Tustin native Eliana Moreno remembered for her homegrown roots – NBC Los Angeles

Whereas family members, viewers and colleagues mourn the deaths of NBCLA and Telemundo 52 aerial reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, Orange County is remembering Moreno for her native ties to the realm.

A local of Tustin, Moreno was proud to name Orange County her dwelling. After graduating from Foothill Excessive Faculty, she went on to earn a level in broadcast journalism and political science from Chapman College. Her former friends and professors stated she was a standout pupil who had a transparent imaginative and prescient of the place she needed to take her profession.

“She knew from the beginning,” stated David Goedhart, a Chapman College TV studio engineer. “I keep in mind checking in together with her. She advised me she had a helicopter pilot license. She advised me the story.”

Moreno’s journalism journey started at Chapman College’s Dodge School of Movie and Media Arts, the place she graduated in 2010.

“The standard of her work, her angle, by no means had a nasty day — and had a plan,” Pete Weitzner, an adjunct professor at Chapman College, stated. “When you learn her bio since she was 11, she executed it. She stayed on the town – the hometown lady!”

The Orange County native had 5 brothers and sisters. She was enthusiastic about her household, her job, her pets and the group.

Earlier than Moreno reported within the sky, she spent seven years reporting from the bottom with Irvine’s group tv station.

“She was such a vibrant gentle,” Tom Macduff, Communications Supervisor for the town of Irvine, stated. “She got here into work every single day and needed to make the most effective of her time there and her relationship with folks.”

Moreno joined Angel Metropolis Air, which operates NewsChopper4, in 2010. She delivered aerial stories in each Spanish and English for NBCLA and Telemundo 52.
