Matt McQuillan, Former PGA Golfer, Useless at 45

A talented golfer has left the world too quickly. 

Matt McQuillan, a Canadian professional participant who made his debut within the PGA Tour in 2011, died Aug. 5 at Kingston Normal Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, his household confirmed. He was 45. 

“It’s with heavy hearts we share the passing of Matthew Justin McQuillan (Matty to most),” his household wrote in an obituary revealed Aug. 8. “Matty was a revered golfer, devoted son, hilarious brother, and pal. His father, Mark, began instructing him the way to swing the membership on the younger age of ten and his ardour and expertise grew immensely.”

Certainly, McQuillan—who went professional in 2003—earned his PGA Tour card in 2010 by qualifying college. The next 12 months, McQuillan marked his strongest 12 months as a participant. He shot a final-round 64 to tie for third place within the John Deere Traditional and earned slightly below $600,000 in the course of the season. 

McQuillan competed in a complete of 32 occasions within the PGA Tour, in addition to 23 occasions within the PGA Tour Canada and 11 occasions within the Korn Ferry Tour. He performed his last 12 months {of professional} golf in 2017, in keeping with the PGA web site.
