1 injured in street rage incident involving gun in Hingham

Somebody fired a gun throughout a street rage incident outdoors a library in Hingham on Thursday afternoon, police stated.

Police responded to the car parking zone of the Hingham Public Library at 4:22 p.m. for “stories of gunshots fired after an obvious street rage incident between the individuals in two automobiles,” the Hingham Police division stated in a press launch. 

One of many two automobiles concerned was nonetheless on the scene when officers arrived, police stated. It appeared that the passenger in that car fired his gun within the car parking zone throughout the street rage incident, the division stated. 

The passenger who fired his gun “suffered an obvious non-gunshot damage” and was dropped at a hospital, police stated. His damage was not life-threatening, the division wrote. The passenger has a gun license, in response to the division. 

Police haven’t positioned the second driver, the division stated at round 8 pm. Thursday. Police didn’t make clear if anybody concerned within the incident is anticipated to face fees.

Officers are nonetheless investigating the incident, the division wrote.
