4 of 10 scientists with mysterious deaths, disapperances from SoCal – NBC Los Angeles
At the very least 10 American scientists with ties to U.S. nuclear or house analysis applications have died or disappeared in recent times, together with 4 with ties to Southern California.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation mentioned it’s wanting into the mysterious circumstances to see if they’re related as a result of not less than 10 scientists have vanished or died since 2022. The 4 people with SoCal roots are:
- Michael David Hicks – A scientist and Sunland resident who labored on the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in La Cañada Flintridge. He died on the age of 59 on July 30, 2023. A reason for dying was not publicly launched.
- Frank Maiwald – A scientist at NASA JPL. He died on the age of 61 on July 4, 2024. A reason for dying was not made public.
- Monica Reza – A scientist at NASA JPL. She vanished on the age of 60 whereas on a hike close to Mount Waterman within the Angeles Nationwide Forest on June 22, 2025.
- Carl Grillmair – An astrophysicist at Caltech. He died on the age of 67 after he was fatally shot on the entrance porch of his residence within the Antelope Valley in February of this 12 months.
The circumstances have caught the eye of President Donald Trump, who mentioned he’s mentioned the scientists in a gathering with different leaders.
