Man arrested for kidnapping UCLA college students, raping a girl – NBC Los Angeles

A person was arrested for kidnapping of two UCLA college students in addition to a separate intercourse assault from 2025, the UCLA Police Division introduced Tuesday.
Detectives mentioned Alexander Schecter, a rideshare driver, was speculated to drop off two UCLA college students on March 8. As a substitute, Schecter prevented them from getting out of the automobile and continued to drive half a mile on Gayley Avenue, police mentioned.
A number of days later, detectives recognized Schecter and arrested him on cost of kidnapping and false imprisonment. The 24-year-old posted bail and was launched.
As investigators continued to look intently into Schecter, they decided the person was linked to a beforehand unreported rape in West LA. The feminine sufferer, who has no identified ties to UCLA, was assaulted on Oct. 12, 2025 between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. close to Venice Boulevard and Clarington Avenue, the UCLA police mentioned.
Schecter was arrested once more on Friday in reference to that alleged intercourse assault and was booked on suspicion of rape by drive, forcible oral copulation, theft, extortion, and battery. His bail was set at $600,000, and Schecter was freed on bond the following day, in response to jail information.
Police consider there could also be extra unreported incidents involving Schecter and urged victims to return ahead.
