Canada’s Sam Bennett to switch injured Anthony Cirelli at Olympics
Staff Canada has made a change to its Olympic roster.
Florida Panthers ahead Sam Bennett will exchange injured Tampa Bay Lightning ahead Anthony Cirelli on the upcoming Winter Olympics, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported Tuesday.
The information comes simply days after Cirelli was injured in Sunday’s Stadium Collection sport towards the Boston Bruins.
Cirelli, 28, was injured after he was the recipient of a Mark Kastelic open-ice hit at centre ice with underneath two minutes left within the opening body.
Lightning and Staff Canada head coach described the harm as “form of a stinger” after the sport.
In 49 video games with the Lightning this season, the Etobicoke, Ont., native has 15 objectives and 20 assists.
