Gasoline line explodes close to 5 Freeway in Castaic – NBC Los Angeles

Authorities had been responding Saturday to experiences of a fuel line explosion close to the 5 Freeway in Castaic.
LA County firefighters had been referred to as round 4:17 p.m. to the world of Ridge Route Highway and Pine Crest Place. It is unclear precisely the place the explosion occurred.
Officers had issued an evacuation order that was later downgraded to a shelter-in-place order.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for the next Castaic areas:
- West of I-5
- South of North Crimson Oak Courtroom
- North of Park Vista Drive
- East of Meadow Grass Drive, Victoria Highway, and Mandolin Canyon Highway
The whole 5 Freeway was shut down indefinitely, in line with the California Freeway Patrol. Northbound visitors was being diverted to the CA-126.
A witness within the space reported a sulfur odor and a loud noise that gave the impression of a jet engine.
Residents in Granada Hills, Porter Ranch and Sylmar reported smelling fuel from their houses.
