Mariners declare LHP Jose Castillo off waivers from Mets

The Seattle Mariners claimed veteran left-hander Jose Castillo off waivers from the New York Mets on Wednesday.

In a corresponding transfer to open a spot on the 40-man roster, the Mariners designated left-hander Joe Jacques, a minor leaguer, for project.
